History of Security Minds
The principal directors believing that clients would benefit more if their visions were realised moved to establish Security Minds. In August 2006, Security Minds was founded to offer protective security and security assurance services. Initially Security Minds offers services to UK Government (Central & Local), Law Enforcement, the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) and parts of the UK’s Critical National Infrastructure (CNI).
The People
Security Minds is a company founded in 2006, with the aims of providing high quality tailored information security consulting services to clients. Security Minds therefore recruit capable consultants and invests in their continuing professional development to enable consultants to offer best value and knowledge in their roles with clients. Security Minds is a dynamic organisation with a real vision to deliver high quality yet competitive services in a number of key areas of security assurance. Security Minds is as a result working to become an ‘investment in people’ accredited organisation. The Security Minds team all sign up to the corporate policy of protective profiling.
Managing Director
The Managing Director of Security Minds is Russ George, who is engaged as a trusted advisor to Government covering all areas of protective security and security assurance. Russ is an experienced Information Security & Security Assurance Consultant with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering from the University of Portsmouth. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), BSI BS7799/ISO27001/ISO9001 Lead Auditor, has been awarded the certificate of Infosec Competency as an ITPC Accreditor, is a former CESG CHECK team member and a former member of the British Computer Society Security Expert Panel and founder member of the Institute of Information Security Professionals and in part time government service. As a principal consultant he has managed a wide range of programmes and projects of all sizes delivering business benefit and enhancing understanding across business groups of the value of protective security and security assurance to business delivery and business change.

operating situation
Security Minds has offices at two UK sites. The first in St Albans, Hertfordshire, and the other in Surrey and has consultants working with clients at their sites. Security Minds consultants are normally embedded in programmes at client sites, with a secure communications infrastructure to enable knowledge sharing between consultants and to support Security Minds quality vision.
